A library card is free — and it unlocks everything.
If you live, work, or attend school in Nova Scotia, you qualify for a free SSPL library card. Apply online or visit any branch.
What you'll need
- Proof of identity (driver's licence, passport, or other photo ID)
- Proof of address (utility bill, lease, or government letter)
- An email address (for notifications about holds and due dates)
Visitors who don't have a permanent Nova Scotia address can also get a temporary card. Ask staff for details.
