Support SSPL

Volunteer with us

Volunteers are part of how SSPL stretches every dollar. Help with programs, shelving, technology assistance, special events, and Bookmobile route support.

Ways to help

  • Program assistance — story time helpers, Maker Table support, tech-help mentors
  • Shelving and collection care
  • Bookmobile route support (loading, stops, community-greeting)
  • Special-event setup, registration, and teardown
  • Friends of the Library — advocacy, fundraising, book-sale support

Time commitment

Volunteer roles range from a one-time event shift to ongoing weekly placements. We work with student volunteers who need community-service hours, retired patrons who want to give back, and everyone in between.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of South Shore Public Libraries is an independent community group that supports SSPL through advocacy, fundraising, and the annual book sale. Friends meetings are open to all patrons. If you’d like to join, email info@ssplibraries.ca for an introduction.
